The idea
A JOURNEY.
A PRACTICAL TEST.
A SHARED PLATFORM.
What would it take to move people and goods electrically across a continent?
Road to COP32 proposes a journey from Cape Town to Addis Ababa, combining electric mobility demonstrations with local engagement, evidence gathering and storytelling ahead of COP32.
The ambition is to make corridor readiness tangible: the charging, energy, border processes, skills and cooperation needed to support reliable electric travel.
A proposed electric truck, support vehicles and selected bus demonstrations would bring different transport needs into the same conversation.

Six country chapters
A CORRIDOR
OF CONNECTIONS.
Different markets bring different questions. The expedition would use each country chapter to connect practical transport needs with local expertise.

The programme
FROM DEMONSTRATION
TO SHARED KNOWLEDGE.
The journey is a platform for practical work before, during and after the expedition.
01
Test the corridor
Document charging access, vehicle operations and the coordination needed to travel between countries.
02
Meet the ecosystem
Bring utilities, operators, institutions, researchers and communities into local conversations.
03
Make participation count
Explore skills, local enterprise and inclusive mobility, with attention to women, young people and people with disabilities.
04
Capture the evidence
Develop a corridor report, practical route knowledge, country insights and selected datasets under agreed data arrangements.
05
Tell the human story
Create documentary coverage, interviews, photography and short films that connect technology with lived experience.
06
Carry the learning forward
Bring findings to proposed discussions in Addis Ababa and continue cooperation beyond the expedition.
Partnerships
BRING YOUR PART
TO THE JOURNEY.
We welcome partners who can help make the expedition technically credible, locally relevant and useful beyond the road.
Contributions may include funding, vehicles, charging access, technical expertise, logistics, local convening, research or production support. Roles and scope will be agreed individually.
LET’S BUILD
THE NEXT JOURNEY.
Help shape the route, the questions we ask and the partnerships that make the journey possible.
